High latitudes in Canada and Greenland!

High latitude sailing expedition

Do you want to explore the high latitudes in Canada and Greenland? A 49' sailing yacht will start from Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada) on an expedition in the beginning of July 2013. They will explore the wild eastern coast of Canada from Halifax to Hudson Island. Then they will set sail towards Nuuk, Greenland to explore the fjords. This is a 3 week expedition, and the boat can host up to six guests. No sailing experience required, just an adventurous mind-set and a will to participate in all on board duties.


Price per person: NOK 22.000. This includes all on board food and non-alcoholic drinks, flights to and from the boat not included.
If they get enough interest they will also set up a 2 week long expedition starting from Nuuk towards Cape Farvel.
Price per person: NOK 20.000. This includes all on board food and non-alcoholic drinks, flights to and from the boat not included.

The Vendée Globe skippers rally around Bernard Stamm

Without passing comment on the jury’s decision, the majority of the skippers competing in the Vendée Globe have expressed their support for Bernard Stamm in the context of his request to reopen the case.

Nobody is calling into question the international jury’s neutrality and impartiality and the skippers have chosen to share their opinion on the matter as they believe that this should be taken into account in the final decision.Hereafter is the letter sent to the Presidents of the Jury, the Race Committee and the SAEM Vendée:

Rule 69

Rule 69 - Allegations of Gross Misconduct 69.1. Action by a Protest Committee (a) When a protest committee , from its own observation or a report received from any source, believes that a jury may have brought the sport into disrepute, it may call a hearing.

The jury has no mandate to penalize Bernard Stamm or any other contestant because an outside entity attempts to exercise their duty according to international maritime law.
